The Challenge
Renaissance Menswear in Ledbury, Herefordshire sells smart casual clothes for men of all ages. Its aim is to provide a relaxed, hassle free shopping experience by selling clothes, shoes and accessories all under one roof. It stocks affordable, quality products from specialist brands that are hard to find elsewhere.
The shop needed a clean, contemporary and mobile friendly website that would be a good reflection of the stylish but relaxed shop itself. It also needed to showcase the brands the shop sells and appeal to men across a wide age range. Once a clear brand identity had been established on the website this needed to be extended to print advertising to carry the message through.
The Solution
Renaissance Menswear’s owner, Susie, knew she wanted the shop’s core brand to heavily feature the ‘R’ in Renaissance along with a strong and memorable colour. After exploring a number of typefaces and colours the final choice uses a script typeface that is both traditional and contemporary and a sophisticated, elegant green grey.
The website itself focuses heavily on product images and is mobile friendly so it can be browsed by people ‘on the move’. It is slick and sleek yet still easy and intuitive to navigate so it appeals to visitors of all ages.
The shop’s advertising in local magazines takes the strong combination of the colour, logo and product imagery to create a distinctive and memorable brand.
